Hydrotherapy and wellbeing in Chaudes-Aigues, Cantal

Hydrotherapy and wellbeing : recharge your batteries during a relaxing stay in Cantal.

In the south-east, the department of Cantal forms a triangle with, to the east, the deep, steep climbing Mecca of the Gorges du Bès, and to the west, the Aubrac mountains; having hesitated for a long time, la Truyère finally formed the third and last side of the triangle, which is the where the hot springs flow down to the suitably named Chaudes-Aigues.

Europe's hottest spring

The spa town of Chaudes-Aigues is well-known for being home to Europe’s hottest natural, thermo-mineral springs, which reach temperatures as high as 82°C, and which include the so-called “Source du Par”. The curative properties of this water mean that Chaudes-Aigues has become a well-known and unique spa town in Cantal. Its waters, rising up from the depths of the earth and swollen with minerals, are used mainly to treat rheumatism and osteoarthritis.

Europe’s hottest thermal springs are found at the Caleden thermal centre. Water is the show-stealer in its natural state here (though cooled down to 33-34°C!) and comes in a variety of forms: waterfalls, streams, bubbling waters, steam and geysers, all of which form a feast for the senses. The minerals it contains mean that this magical water envelops you with its refreshing warmth for hours of relaxation, with waterfalls, bubble beds, Jacuzzi, sauna, hammam and more.

Quality accommodations

In Chaudes-Aigues, various accommodation options also have high-quality facilities especially for your wellbeing (spas, whirlpool baths etc.) so you can enjoy a really relaxing stay.
