Enjoy the Massif du Forez in the summer

Do you prefer the gentle summer heat (which is not stifling at the high altitudes encountered in the Forez hills)?

The upland pastures of the Forez

Whether on foot, on horseback, by donkey or by mountain bike, the areas unfolding before you and waiting to be explored are huge and captivating. A number of marked-out trails have been created for your convenience, giving you all the freedom you need to really "go as you please". Cool, refreshing water is present everywhere you look. Enjoy all the fun of bathing, water games, fishing and more.

Horse riding is a tradition in the Forez area. No surprise then that you'll find a large number of equestrian centres here, offering activities suitable for all ages and abilities (including guides, treks and classes, etc).
Afterwards, why not try some of the local culinary specialities including cooked meats, Fourme d’Ambert cheese or a bilberry tart, a product which has become something of a local institution and which has given rise to the festival of the same name held on August 15 in Saint-Pierre-la Bourlhonne. We strongly recommend that you take the time to sample these dishes in the cool and relaxed atmosphere of a jasserie (a mountain farm).
Enjoy a welcome change of scenery during your stay in the Forez hills.
